It’s National Donut Day and although I have taken the path of less sugar, I am still quite drooly.
My (most) favorite donut of all time is likely the Bismark, the round puffy cloud of goodness dipped oh so gently in chocolate and aggressively stuffed with custard. There is also a chocolate cake donut that has wooed my tastebuds, don’t say yuck, it is unlike one that I have had before with little colored chips atop like a snow covered mountain from LaMar’s in Lincoln, NE, I have never looked in Fort Collins for them, the donut, not LaMar’s.
Okay, on to the cheap or free treats.
*LaMar’s: A Free Donut all day without purchase and are offering Donut Day T-Shirts for purchase. Also, ask them about their free donuts for a year hashtag giveaway.
*FoCo DoCo: Inside Scrumpy’s, 215 N. College Ave., is offering $1 donuts throughout the day and have pre-made boxes of 10, for um, $10. Special note, you can get them delivered and they are offering vegan varieties as well.
*Dunkin’ Donuts: Get a free donut with the purchase of a drink, we’re talking coffee-ish beverages, not mimosas. This, according to the Coloradoan, is at their 2801 S. College Ave, is there another location?
And there you have it… the way I see it, that’s at least 3 free or cheap tricks for you today, work it right and you will be sugar-filled to the rim all day.
